Within short walking distance is the golden sand beach of Campbell’s Bay and the Kakanui River. Only a ten minute drive south of Oamaru and twenty minutes north of the famous Moeraki boulders and iconic Fleurs restaurant, Kakanui is an ideal place to enjoy the outdoors with great surfing and swimming beaches, walking, fishing, kayaking and penguin watching amongst other recreational activities.
Oamaru and the North Otago environs are also home to the stunning Victorian precinct and associated heritage businesses and cafes and the Vanished World fossil trail to name a few.
